NPS exit rules — non-government subscribers (All Citizen and Corporate): rates and rules as of 16-Dec-2025 · Source: PFRDA (Exits and Withdrawals under the NPS) Amendment Regulations, notified 16 Dec 2025 — PFRDA press release of 19 Dec 2025. Every figure based on it stays editable.
How this works
Under PFRDA's amended exit rules (notified 16-Dec-2025), non-government subscribers can take up to 80% as a lumpsum at normal exit; at least 20% buys an annuity. Smaller corpuses have more flexibility.
The pension estimate depends on annuity rates at the time you exit, which change.
Frequently asked questions
What if my corpus is small?
Up to ₹8 lakh can be withdrawn fully; between ₹8 lakh and ₹12 lakh, up to ₹6 lakh as lumpsum with the rest as systematic withdrawals over at least 6 years or an annuity.
Do these rules apply to government employees?
No — government-sector subscribers keep the 60% lumpsum / 40% annuity rule.
