Show formula & working

ABB = Σ balances on the sampling dates ÷ number of balances

By multiple = ABB × multiple · By EMI room: EMI ≤ ABB ÷ factor − existing EMIs, loan = PV of that EMI

Eligible = lower of the two

    How this works

Banking-surrogate programmes size a business loan from how much money typically sits in the current account. Lenders read the balance on fixed dates each month and average them.

Two checks are common: the loan as a multiple of ABB, and the EMI as a fraction of ABB. Both the multiple and the fraction vary widely by lender, so the figures here are examples to replace.

    Frequently asked questions

    Which dates do lenders use?

Each lender fixes its own — often five or six dates a month, such as the 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th and 25th, over the last six or twelve months.

    Do inward cheque returns matter?

Yes. Lenders also look at bounces, cash deposits and credit turnover, not just the average balance.

    Planning business borrowing?

Structure, tenure and the right lender matter as much as the rate. Talk to Rytvae before you apply.
